Yury Lyukshin

Yury Lyukshin

Born in Leningrad, USSR in 1949.
   
Graduated from the Leningrad Art College named after Valentin Serov in 1971.
   
Graphic artist, painter, book illustrator, teacher. Member of the Union of Artists since 1978 and of the International Association of Art Critics since 1998. Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation (2007) and Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts (2015). Has taken part in more than 300 exhibitions in Russia and abroad, including 65 solo exhibitions.

His works can be found in the collections of the State Hermitage, State Russian Museum, Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, National Library of Russia and State Library of Russia, the New Orleans Museum of Art, Metropolitan Museum in New York and Ludwig Museum in Cologne. His awards include two gold medals (from Tradition and Quest, Paris, 1984, and Leipzig Biennale of Book Art, 1989) and two silver medals (awarded at the 1st International Biennale of Small-Format Graphic Art and Ex-Libris, Peking, 1998, and by the Russian Academy of Arts, Moscow, 2004).
